As the Israeli Army steps up its attacks against the people of Gaza, what is it like to live there? Could it even be called living? This story by MONA EL-FARRA, a doctor, a mother, a Palestinian in Gaza, July 12, 2006.
Yes there were many arrests (the police call them citations) at the gathering this year. More than normal and it lowered the turnout to about 25,000. Abramoff Gets 6 Years in Prison
Disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff was sentenced to five years and 10 months in federal prison
March 29 | Abramoff has also pleaded guilty to three federal charges as part of a wide-ranging corruption probe that involves up to 20 members of Congress and aides, including former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.
Abramoff admitted concocting a fake $23 million wire transfer to make it appear he had made a large cash contribution to the $147.5 million purchase of SunCruz Casinos. Based on that fake transfer, lenders provided the pair with $60 million in financing.

A good synopsis of the situation around the violence in Iraq that is leading to a civil war. He asks the question, "who is paying the death squads that are committing the violence?" and the obvious answer is the US.
He does not go into why the US would want to provoke a civil war in Iraq. I postulate a reason in the article below - it's the same reason we had WWI and WWII -- to implement sweeping changes to our world by the ruling elite.

March 3, 2006 San Diego | Randy "Duke" Cunningham, who collected $2.4 million in homes, yachts, antique furnishings, a Rolls-Royce, and other bribes on a scale unparalleled in the history of Congress, was sentenced Friday to eight years in prison, the longest term meted out to a congressman in decades. He will go to jail until he's 70 years old.

Check out the latest in the purge of the corrupt congress (mostly Republicans) 'Duke" Cunningham from San Diego resigns, but not until he taped the corrupted congress. There are now over 80 Senators and Congressmen under investigation.
With Abramoff singing like a trapped weasel, Cunnigham wiring conversations with the FBI, and special prosecutor Fitzgerald winding up to hit a home run I predict the peace and justice movement will be having indictment parties all summer long in '06.

Fallujah update 4-16-04 | US Lieutenant Colonel Brennan Byrne told AFP that his men were "definitely in the killing business now. I intend to use AC 130 gunships every night. Rumsfeld described the situation in Fallujah as "largely stabilized".
The official story is giving us the good news -- there is now a Hyundai car lot in Baghdad. Now that is progress. The right wing hawks are waging sins against humanity and they are telling those that are calling foul on these war crimes to stop being so negative.
