U.S. Has a Plan to Occupy Iraq, Officials Report

WASHINGTON, Oct. 10 The White House is developing a detailed plan, modeled on the postwar occupation of Japan, to install an American-led military government in Iraq if the United States topples Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), senior administration officials said today.

The plan also calls for war-crime trials of Iraqi leaders and a transition to an elected civilian government that could take months or years. In the initial phase, Iraq would be governed by an American military commander perhaps Gen. Tommy R. Franks, commander of United States forces in the Persian Gulf, or one of his subordinates who would assume the role that Gen. Douglas MacArthur served in Japan after its surrender in 1945.

"I am viscerally opposed to a prolonged occupation of a Muslim country at the heart of the Muslim world by Western nations who proclaim the right to re-educate that country," said the former secretary of state, Henry A. Kissinger, who as a young man served as a district administrator in the military government of occupied Germany.

Commentary: The Council On Foreign Relations (one of our world's secret society right wing think tanks) has it divided into a 3 part phase for the inhabitation of Iraq - stabilization, rehabilitation and democratization. They don't even recommend anything, they don't ask the Iraqi people, rather they talk in terms of this is how it is going to be. First the US will lead a coalition that will police the country, with the help of some of the Iraqi military that are disloyal to Saddam. (yeah right - the Iraqi military that gets to drive the Cadillac and smoke the Cuban cigar). In my opinion this will guarantee the presence of power will remain with the Baathists and the policing will maintain the suffering of the opponents of the Baathists (Hussein's party) the Shiites in the south and the Kurds in the north. Iraq's indigenous natives will be the stabilized.

Then the rehabilitation of the people will take place. In order to restore the infrastructure and boost the health of the people the water, electricity needs to be turned back on. My prediction is that this infrastructure rebuilding will occur with Iraq's own money (from the sale of oil) and will occur mainly in the areas that we currently support; the areas in the no-fly zone, the areas controlled by the Baathist party - Baghdad, pop. 5 million. This system of getting the country to pay the US to rebuild its country after the US has destroyed it is common to the systematic conquering of nations found in Globalization. Globalization is the forward thrust of US imperialism in the world today.

And the last step calls for the democratization of Iraq. The council claims that it will take 24 months before a constitutional government will be in place. This process will happen under the guidance of the United States. My objection to this is that the people of this culture are not accustomed to our way of running a country. They know nothing of voting, they know nothing of electing leaders to represent them in a congress. The women trust the men to take care of such matters as power in the rulership of the country while the women in the US think they are oppressed. This is such a case of ethno-centrist attitude gone haywire that it must be stopped. Who are we the United States telling another culture that they must be like us, the great democracy, when we are no longer a democracy ourselves?

Things have changed in the US. The y2000 election coup meant that we lost our democracy. The people of the US are no longer involved in a representative government. Are we going to show Iraq how to rig an election? This is a regime change at the behest of an illegitimate regime called the Bush administration and it is my prayer that the world community stops them. Heaven know the US people are behind in their duties to stop them. Where is the hutzpah (the guts) of the American people? The world is waiting to see it.
