On the topic of what is good or bad for society - here are the snapshots that saw georgeous women strut their stuff, across the grand stage in the living rooms of America. Meanwhile Michael Copps, the head of the Federal Communications Commission, urged the FCC agency to revise the definition of indecency and also look into whether it should be expanded to include obscene, violent and profane programming. It appears that the Christian fundamentalists are complaining about the fornicators again.

These women are angels wearing wings and have on more clothes than the Miss America swimsuit contest. Some women would say they are being made objects others would say they are being glorified and made icons of beauty, most don't really care. The side story is the one that affects us all and that being the thought police wanting to corral what we watch on TV and how we think about love and war.

"The current definition of indecency to me should be capturing for enforcement purposes some of these programs and it is not," Copps told reporters during a briefing. "We are only having a paucity of enforcement actions against programming that is palpably and demonstrably indecent."

There were more than 300 e-mails from the public complaining about the lingerie fashion show. Some of the e-mails had subject lines that said: "When will this trash stop?" and "Victoria's Secret smut show."
Well that is what the peace movement is saying about America's dirty wars - they are obscene and must end. I ask you what is more obscene; glorifying the human body or desecrating life? What hypocracry this is, not unlike people bombing and killing abortion doctors while celebrating the death penalty.

This gets back to what Larry Flynt has said all along --- how can you allow war, suicide bombings, famine, and pestilence on TV and not allow something that inspires our libido?

I guess people complained because it was sexy underwear and not swimsuits they were modeling. Anyway the hubris of these vixons was stunning and I say hurray for something that inspires the libido of a sterile dysfunctional society. Here is Victoria's Secret story as reported on YAHOO.

or this -  "Nigeria Miss World Rioting Spreads"
The Muslims are blaming the Christians for being immoral and burning Christian churches. Then Falwell is blaming the immoral secular Americans for bringing on the wrath of GOD. Then people that are being immoral are waging love not war so who is wrong?

"We are calling on the government to stop Miss World, this show of shame. For women to expose themselves to men other than their husbands is forbidden," said one of the protesters, Hadiza Usman.

It appears that the Muslims are mimmicking the ultra Christians as they too do not like the temptation of sex flaunted so freely over their televisions.
Miss World organizers insist contestants have respected Muslim values by dressing conservatively.

We are living in a time of religious extremism. Fundamentalists have taken hold of religions, governments and societies around the world and I find it interesting that there is a Holy War brewing between religions that are on the same side of the fence. I say have your war just leave the other side of the fence out of it.
