George Bush, I cannot begin to tell you He has done so much to change my life. He has given my life a deeper meaning, new goals, new reasons to carry on. It is as if I have been living my entire life in preparation for this man, this moment in history to arrive and now it has. He entered my life some three years ago
arousing old feelings of concern for my country and my world. Yes, George
Bush has made me more patriotic than I ever imagined, more driven, more
determined in my quest for a greater country and a better world. But where do
I start, where do I turn my attention in striving for a new and better world?
George Bush has given me several new
pastimes and many new opportunities to engage in my new endeavor. I now go to
great lengths to show my patriotism for my country and my world. I talk politics at pot
lucks, I put up yard signs and paste bumper stickers that encourage my fellow citizens, I campaign to get people elected, I make phone calls just to talk politics, I go on
long walks with thousands of others interested in their world, and I even stand on street corners
encouraging my fellow citizens to become active in our great democracy. Because of George Bush I have made the effort to know what is happening in the world. I have read books, attended lectures, and gone to places on the Internet I never dreamed existed. Here I gather and disseminate information about the truth of our world, could there be a more noble cause, a greater way to participate in the goings on in this world than to pursue knowledge of how it all works? With this new knowledge of my world I can now make better decisions for my life. Decisions on where to get my information about my world, how to vote my new conscience, where to put my money to good use, how to buy my clothes from stores that do not engage in child or sweat shop labor, even how to eat organically. I now have hope: hope to live a more respectful life with deeper, richer values. I hope to live in a world where the women are wise and the men more tolerable, I mean honorable. It is because of George Bush that I have
so many new friends in my life. Friends I have come to trust; I trust their
knowledge, their analysis of the world, and their loyalty to the creation of
a better world. A world where there is liberty and justice for all, a world
where every man, woman, and child has the ability to live, a desire to
experience liberty, and the opportunity to pursue happiness. For all this I
am grateful. George Bush has altered the direction of my life and even though he may be hard to swallow sometimes I remain optimistic. Bush is the grain of sand in the oyster, it is up to me to make the pearl. |
