The World Can't Wait Demonstration

Wake up and rise up America and take your country back by drowning out Bush's State of the Onion address.

The cold Seattle rain drizzled onto the cheeks of 700 demonstrators on the night of the state of the onion address outside Fisher Plaza, in the heart of Seattle. Meanwhile in DC, Bush was plodding his stream of explanation consciousness through the minefield of his detractors. Bush telling it like it is and will be, we are at war, we have been at war because of 9/11, and we will be at war until we win. We are the greatest nation on God's green Earth and because we are the greatest we are smart; we will be driving our cars on corn not oil. I think it's sad when 845 million humans are starving to death, America is growing food to drive our cars. Is this the best we can do?

Across the country thousands took to the streets to drown out Bush with pots and pans, drums and noisemakers, voices of outrage, and jeers and sneers. The speakers covered all the bases: lawyers talking about detentions, ministers preaching about brotherhood, punks lighting Bush on fire in effigy, angry blacks chanting Bush must go, women read poetry, children screamed and mothers dreamed of life after Bush and the crowd ate it up, accenting each high emotion with endless clamoring noise. Beautiful "drown out Bush" noise penetrating the halls of power in the TV station and the people realized the strength of a mass movement when it talks truth to power.

In the end I closed the demonstration with this short poignant speech.

"Today, I am so happy. I am so jubilant because of you. You the people give me confidence, you give me hope. I can't wait, the world can't wait for something we have all been waiting for - LIFE,,,,,,,, after Bush. Do you have a vision for what life will be like after Bush? I do.

The people will come to power, rising up and vanquishing their oppressors. And the people will have peoples' healthcare, peoples' justice, peoples' education, and peoples' food.

How dare they mess with the people's food, they have redefined the meaning of organic. Now you can have 30% plastic garbage in the food and still call it organic. Organic food is the peoples' food.

How dare Bush tell us he is not spying on us, he is just eavesdropping. Bush thinks that Bill 'O" Rights is an Irish, right wing, talk show host. Peoples' justice is putting Bush in exile, and there will be peoples' justice.

How dare they come up with standardized testing for our teachers and students. These tests are loyalty tests for the new system - Hitler had standardized testing and no liberal arts, no arts in the new world order. The peoples' education is free education where people are free to think and question when they are being lied to.

There are 45 million people without healthcare, I know the people can do better than that. We need 300 million people without healthcare. The AMA, the American Mengele Association, is the most barbarous healthcare ever developed and it is NOT the peoples' healthcare. Why is Naturopathic medicine legal in only 14 states? How dare they send in SWAT teams to raid health food stores for selling Vitamin B12. The peoples' healthcare will be legal in the land of life after Bush and we will have 300 million healthy people.

What is your vision for life after Bush? It is time to rise up America and take your country back. Rise up people and claim what is rightfully yours --- and that is, LIFE after Bush!
