Katrina, the fog of bureaucracy - Brownie plays the blame game, don't be fooled
By Michael Tivana, March 3, 2006
Brown is back and he refutes the excuse that the feds messed up because they were in the fog of war.
He goes on to place blame, but he is actually steering the public away from the stories and real questions that remain the untold truth about Katrina. The great Katrina cover-up continues.
Brown makes a good point, Bush knew about the impending disaster and did nothing to stop it. But this argument will not go very far in removing this second term president from office and it ultimately steers people away from the truth while placating Bush detractors. Brown's continuous finger pointing is a sloppy ruse to vent peoples' ire while keeping the world away from the truth. The point is, YES, somewhere the Feds messed up, but it does not answer why they messed up. To me the line between incompetence and deliberate acts is very thin and we must note the facts to unveil the mother of all cover ups - Katrina.
What must be talked about is not talked about and instead we are stuck in this dog chasing it's tail blame game. Bush's incompetence may or may not be true, it doesn't matter, it is not the problem. Put incompetence aside and look at the evidence. What should be talked about are these facts:
The National Guard - when they arrived why did they contain the people instead of helping them. They contained the people into small areas and would not let them leave. For their own good? Hardly, not when they are starving, and dying from lack of water. Who told the Nat. Guard to contain the people?
The levees - why did so many people hear explosions going off on the levees just before they breached? Why did each canal have a huge barge in it? The probability of a huge barge ending up in a levee is slim - like having the wind put thread through a needle. This is very improbable. The levees had dozens of breaches and most were not caused by water overtopping the walls.
Bush - after it was all said and done the first words out of his mouth were, "This calls for more military action. Only the military has the ability to respond quickly, with the right capabilities and on the scale required by a disaster like Hurricane Katrina".
After Katrina people are begging for the military to be more involved.
Sept 21, 2005 Voice of America | "President Bush has ordered a review of disaster relief procedures, and last week, the chief Defense Department spokesman, Lawrence DiRita, called the current laws that limit the military's role "archaic." They were enacted in the period immediately after the U.S. civil war in the mid-1800s, when southern states, which had lost the war, were worried about a federal takeover of local authority."
Changing the law to allow the military to police Americans is not a good move, for freedom, it is a good move for a totalitarian government that requires military policing of the people.
Why were there Mexican Army and Navy troops on our soil helping out when Nat. Guard from other states were told to stay home. It was to get Americans accustomed to having foreign troops on our soil.
When there is so much unemployment in New Orleans why are most of the workers from MEXICO? Cheap labor, Free Market, Globalized economics.
Why is FEMA and the Mayor's office fighting any people to people support on the ground in NO? It is like a battle to get supplies to the people, they have to be smuggled in. Are they wanting to condemn as much land as possible to build Disney Orleans? IS the land too contaminated for poor folk to move back but not for developers?
Why are there Blackwater rent a cops in New Orleans? They are hired goons that have been involved in running people off their land and out of town. They beat people up in the guise of restoring order etc. These are the goons over in Iraq that are terrorizing the people with indiscriminate killings, I have the movie of them doing it in broad daylight on freeways.
These are the most pressing questions to ask. The people keep falling for the news according to the establishment when the facts are right there in front of our faces. The 911 cover-up is enormous and wrong, Katrina is worse and worthy of exposure.
