How to end the violence in Palestine

Sharon must throw down the olive branch and annex the West Bank and Gaza Strip in exchange for Arafat publicly denouncing the suicide bombers and stopping the Palestinian attacks.

The Israelis need to annex the West Bank and begin treating the Palestinians like citizens with rights to own land, vote, own businesses, have access to water, and live in a house. The current situation will not work because the Israelis have enslaved the Palestinians for the most part locking them into low paying / slave labor jobs with no way to protest or gain any headway in their plight except through lashing out. If Israel continues to refuse the Palestinians the right to live and does not allow them any way to voice themselves it will only grow worse. Car bombs, building bombs, rockets, bio-warfare etc are all there waiting to happen. The world must not tolerate this precarious situation.

When Israel begins to treat the Palestinians like people and not lice to be gotten rid of will this end. Who will throw down the olive branch first? It will have no meaning from Arafat, it has to be Sharon, perhaps from pressure from Bush.

Bush needs peace in the region in order to get some support from the Arabs to attack Iraq. if Bush attacked Iraq without a semblance of peace in Palestine, there will be NO support from the Saudis or any other Arab state and possibly the rest of the coalition. This puts the United States at the risk of expanding its war on terrorism alone.

Another possible way out of this mess is given by William Pitt.
"Any scenario that includes an American war with Iraq hinges upon the fate of Yassar Arafat. If Arafat begins to publicly denounce these suicide bombings and pleads for American assistance, Bush may have little choice but to send American troops and envoys to the region. Such an action would please the Arab League, whose support - or lack of resistance - Bush will need to attack Iraq. This administration's callous lack of engagement in the conflict may change dramatically because they need this diplomatic hedge to clear the path to Baghdad."

The plan to expand the war to Iraq is nearly ready to launch. Britain's Tony Blair is ready to launch more salvos against Hussein, he is waiting for orders from the White House. Timing is everything. The troop count in the region is now 80,000 and heading for a launch level of 200,000. The infrastructure to support the invasion army is being readied in Qatar. The rhetoric to prepare the public is being set, all logic to form thin naive opinions is set, and I am ill to say that peace in Palestine or another terrorist attack on the US is all that is necessary to launch the next phase of the war. The people of the world must demand peace in Palestine and not allow the US to expand it's war on terrorism.

This is the most crucial point in the history of our civilization. There are still opportunities to avoid a war that sees the use of weapons of mass destruction. Let's seize them!

If the doomsday clock strikes midnight and the world is in WWIII who will be to blame? The leaders that saw no other way out? The people that followed them in their emotional blindness? No it will be the blame of the people of the entire world for allowing it to happen!

Rumsfeld is stirring the pot today -- below are his very inflammatory statements. There will be a lot more as the blame for the suicide bombings spreads. Watch for Tony Bliar to start chiming in soon. By this summer we may very well see the US, Britain and Israel vs the WORLD. Hasn't this been done before? Didn't we learn from history?

Rumsfeld
"Murderers are not martyrs, targeting civilians is immoral, whatever the excuse, terrorists have declared war on civilization, and states like Iran, Iraq and Syria are inspiring and financing a culture of political murder and suicide bombing," Rumsfeld told a media briefing.

These are fighting words and are aimed to inflame not deflate the tension. This is a clear implanting of the logic needed to expand the war into the minds of Americans. The US wil not declare war on these states and will let Israel do its bidding. And the sickening fact is that we are doing all this for our safety. What do you think the citizens of Dresden, Germany thought when their city was torched in 1945? Did they wonder why the world hated them? Did they still seek protection from the terrorists?
