The CULTURE Wars
Culture is the reflection in your eye of the world in which you live.
The people that journey through our lives are reflections in our eyes and we see the world through those reflections, parroting realities, those lives that make up the culture in which we live.
When all is said and done and it is time for you to leave this world your legacy is your contributions to your culture. Culture, right down to the way you greet your friends, or the way you greet strangers on street or don't, this is what you experience, this is your culture, this is what you take with you when you leave this world.
Culture wars - history will tell what cultural climate changes occurred in the new millennium that led the most powerful nation in the world to aggressively attack, to preemptively attack another nation in self defense. Then as if it were an addiction to violence that nation attacked again, and again, in the name of fighting international terrorism but in reality they were fighting the people of the world. They were fighting themselves. And how did they gain permission to do this? What gave this nation the right to do the unforgivable act of unleashing the dogs of war?
The culture of war in a climate of fear, took over the minds of the people and for a moment Lucifer had his way with them, and ruled the world. But for just a moment reason left the mind, making it clear, to live in total fear, is a rush so sincere, that hallucinations become the cheer, of the insane.
The bleeding did not stop, the hearts kept beating, and the lambs of virtue kept bleating to be silent, suffering no more. History tells the story of a culture's fall from glory and the people cried out for mercy and there was none, and the people cried out for joy and there was none, and the people cried out for peace and there was war. And the people, bled even more.
In those days of fleeting glory the leaders told the story, the terrorists are on the corner, waiting for your daughter. Get them before they get you, the fighting has begun, please send your only son, and you will be safe.
In those days God was put on the shelf and in its stead morality fled while the people bled, and bled, crying tears of red. Where was God during all this? God was in the mind of man and all throughout the land the people had empty hearts, unable to find solace while living in a gilded cage palace. Lucifer came shouting, and reason was seen running, down the halls of power, searching for safe harbor and there was none to be found.
Those were the days to test the soul. Chaos was blamed on God when all along it was man being fooled by his fellow man believing he was God. So the story of Lucifer goes. Man thinks he is the almighty, and God is behind the curtain, the definition of superstition, and in all the confusion people had a choice, to believe in a false almighty or keep the connection to life's spirit alive through your culture. Hang on to the ray of light shining forth, a crack in the shell of the new awakening.
In those days of the early new millennium, man kept pecking away at the light until the shell of ignorance and fear was shed and the people no longer bled. A culture of truth, warmth, and beauty were in the land. Together, all as one, life made a stand and history became herstory, chaos turned into opportunity for the Phoenix to rise up out of the ashes of the culture wars.
