"Cheney goes BONKERS, orders plan to nuke Iran"

Is it just me or is the herd getting jittery?

August 5, 2005 Tribalmessenger.org | On the eve of the 60th anniversary of Hiroshima when the US nuked civilians for the first time the world reflects on this escalation of war and what it means to our civilization. I go through my days attempting to live a normal life in a big American city and just when I'm sitting in that traffic jam and life is feeling normal, the radio gives me the news. "Dick Cheney orders Pentagon's Strategic Command to plan a nuclear preemptive attack on Iran in the event of another 9/11 event in the US. Has America lost its mind? Why do we have leaders with such outrageous and dangerous backward thinking? Would it be because they have the support and encouragement of enough American people? This is the scary part of living in America in 2005; there are millions of Americans that support a preemptive nuclear strike on any country in the world. After all we have the power, let's use it!

Rush Limbaugh is leading this charge to wage nuclear war by saying, ""Why do they hate us? I don't care, because we're not going to stop them from hating us. That's not what this is about now. What this is about now is wiping them out, ridding the earth of their bodies". He goes on to say, "There is only one way to get rid of nuclear weapons, use them." Bill O'Reilly reacted to the burning of US military mercenaries in Fallujah by saying, "it is time for the final solution", and Michael Savage consistently calls for the use of nuclear weapons in Iraq, "make it a parking lot and be done with it, they don't deserve to live".

Even Paul Harvey, that ageless icon of Americana, is calling for a nuclear attack on our enemies saying, "we developed and delivered the bomb, and with a single blow, World War II was over. Our image is at stake, so what, we didn't come this far because we're made of sugar candy. Once upon a time, we elbowed our way into this continent by giving small pox infected blankets to native Americans. Yes, that was biological warfare! And we used every other weapon we could get our hands on to grab this land from whomever. And we grew prosperous".

Did I miss something? Has my country gone insane? Calling for nuclear attacks is pure lunacy and absolutely criminal. Would somebody please escort these warlords off the premises before it is too late. Along the way to peace America is losing its moral compass and it is time to exile the military might is right mentality and replace it with an understanding of how the world works. People could start by not accepting the official story as to why America is hated. Could it be corruption in our leaders, unethical behavior, preemptive attacks, a disdain for law and order, the wealth gap, just pick one and it would be more real than telling everyone that the Muslims hate us because their holy men are telling them to. Ridiculous!

I maintain hope that America will recover its moral compass and point the guns at the real tyranny that grips the country and end this "strategy of tension" that Project Gladio (lookup keywords) is engaged in with its fabricated War on Terrorism. I only pray that Americans will react with courage when the truth about Project Gladio comes forth and how right wing governments commit acts of terror on their own people in order to convince them of an immanent threat, more so than how they reacted to the lies about fixing the intelligence to coerce America into attacking Iraq. In these perilous times if Americans wish to avoid a World War, they must remember, Governments lie!

At first this bizarre stream of consciousness depresses me and it starts me singing that Barry McGuire song from the 60's, "The Eve of Destruction". I start to hum the words which depict a possible dreary end for our world, "If the button is pushed, there's no running away, there'll be no one to save with the world in a grave, ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction". Then I gain hope as I am reminded of all the victories the people have had recently over insane leaders: Indonesia, Ukraine, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Spain; and I can never doubt that the people will come through and not allow a nuclear war to happen, and Americans will banish nuclear weapons and those that propose their use to Helena, Napoleon's island home.

The herd is jittery and rightfully so as the lies about boogey men threatening our way of life are told from supporting angles with such regularity and cunning as if to make them appear true. It was Hitler that said, "Governments are fortunate that the people can not think". Now is the time to think America, think about what it means to attack another country with a nuclear bomb. Here is your wake up call and your challenge America. Take back your country and get it out of the hands of madmen that are preaching nuclear war. now is the time to change the course of history and steer it toward a lasting peace.

The fact that our Vice President Dick Cheney has ordered STRATCOM (the Pentagon's Strategic Command) to draw up a contingency plan for a nuclear strike against Iran in the aftermath of another "9-11 type attack" on the United States, even if Iran is not actually involved, does not send me over the top packing my bags for safer pastures. His actions stiffen my back and I stand my ground, firm in the faith that if America has the technology to go to outer space, we have the brains and the courage to not start World War III.
