Answering the pro-Bush Internet drivle

I get these pro-war rants all the time, this time I am compelled to respond.

I pass this on because these answers can act as an educational tool and it is always good to have a response to these very pro war points.

When the war started and I saw the bumper stickers "Give War A Chance", I knew there was work to do before there would be peace in our country. Now I see the slogan "WAR - We Are Right", and then I get this email, and I am ready to burst!

Well you have to read it to believe it ---

Did you know that 47 countries have re-established their embassies in Iraq?

This would be the 47 countries that bought off big chunks of Iraq at the Powell Lovefest in Madrid Spain in Nov. 2003.

So. Korea bought the electric grid in No. Iraq and so on. Too bad for the Iraqis those countries were loaned the money to buy Iraq, loaned by the Iraqis under ownership of the US. How can you conquer a country, then loan money in the name of the conquered to corporations that buy the conquered country? I mean how can the conquering (liberating) country consciously do this and claim they are spreading economic opportunity. This is unconscionable.

Did you know that the Iraqi current government employs 1.2 million Iraqi people?

The average Iraqi worker makes $8 a day - the average American contractor makes $1,000 a day. The cost of gasoline is $1.70 a gallon. I don't think the average Iraqi worker is driving to work.

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq?

Great - 25 young Iraqis whose parents have gone over to the dark side are sending their kids off for a liberal education. Why would the liberal media hide this from the public?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational?! They have five 100-foot patrol crafts, 34 smaller vessels and a navel infantry regiment.

Great - let's give them the tools of war so they can defend, I mean attack their neighbors. Just like the old days back in the 80's when the US supplied Iraq with weapons openly and Iran clandestinely through the Arms for hostages scandal. Does anyone remember the lesson of the Iran arms for hostages scandal? It was we were supplying the weapons to both sides of a bloody 8 year war costing over a million human lives.

Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 bell jet rangers?

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities.

2.5 years later and the best they can do is 3 hours of electricity per day in Baghdad; a city of 5 million. The foreign companies that bought Iraq are getting paid $50 million to fix a bridge that an Iraqi company bid $390,000 on. Iraq companies are not getting the contracts.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Great - did they have the tracking chip in the shot? Did you know everyone living in Iraq is going to die or get seriously ill from radiation poisoning that the Uranium munitions are spewing out every day. US soldiers coming back from Iraq are having deformed babies because of their exposure to radiation. What good is a polio vaccination when you live in a radioactive sesspool?

Did you know that 43 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October?

Wow, a population explosion. Let me see, there are 26 million people living in Iraq and they have 43 million children in grade school. No wait, is this a trick question? Let's see, it must be a joke? How many Iraqi children does it take to start a school? 43 million because they are all orphans.

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%?

Yes and who has the monopoly on cell phones in Southern Iraq? Chalabi's son. Ahmed Chalabi is the man that fed the false intelligence to Bolton to give to Bush that got us into this mess. Chalabi has moved on from awarding juicy contracts to friends and relatives to being the Minister of OIL!

When history titles this war it will be called "The Great Crony War".

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Wow, this is great, the author failed to mention the hot stocks though. Just what I needed to hear, Iraq is an investment haven. Let's see, shall I save for my son's college or invest it in Iraq - hard decision.

Two candidates had a recent debate recently. So debate is good, even if it is staged like those famous Bush - Kerry debates we had in the US last year. Two Iraqi presidential hopefuls debating, now there is a puppet act. Too bad the author didn't tell us who the puppeteer was.

On this point I have to agree with the author, our media is withholding the truth.

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at presidential motorcades. People throwing snowballs at the president, I missed that one, must be that poor coverage by the liberal media. Don't even get me going on the Abu Graib torture chambers, that would be rubbing the author's nose in his misguided, erroneous, palaver.

The lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes. It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage American citizens.

This drivel is the act of a desperate soul. When the truth becomes tyrannous then it is time to shout if from the rooftops because the liars know not what they do and they do it for everybody.

Wow, you know you can trust the DOD when you have Richard Pearle writing for them. Is this the best time to mention that Sweden started a program to restore Democracy in the world, and they started with the United States. Their first act was to provide refuge for American intelligence writers working in the State Department and the CIA because they could not go on lying about Iraq. How many lies have to be discovered before a person just has to say - "Hey, its all a lie".
