The National Anthem Revisited
By Lynn Chadsey, Kim Kerrigan, and Michael Tivana, July 4, 2005
We thought it was time to have a national anthem that was not about war
O say can you see
Our holy magic planet here
We are gathered as friends
To create heaven on earth
Abundant food in the fall
Peace and justice for all
Sustainable lives
Are the goals we work for
O say does that PEACE movement banner yet wave
O're the planet that we love
And the dream of Jubilee
It's Beginning to Look
a Lot Like Watergate
by Lynn Chadsey and Michael Tivana
sung to the tune of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"
this is our Chirstmas present to the world in 2005
It's beginning to look a lot like Watergate
With every memo I read
While Bush had made up his mind
To rob all his neighbors blind
And UK's Blair just went for all the greed.
It's beginning to look a lot like Watergate
With every vote that's cast
And the prettiest sight we'll see
Are the troops home happily
At their own front doors.
Two thousand pound bombs and the missiles that whistle
Is the wish of Cheney and Bush
Troops that won't balk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Blair and his men
And ALL the world can hardly wait for peace to reign again.
It's beginning to look a lot like Watergate
With every lie we read
We'ed be welcomed with open arms
Saving Iraq from harm
Shock and Awe just doesn't make them free….
It's beginning to look a lot like Watergate
Soon the bells will toll
And the thing that will make them ring
Is the carol that you sing
To get Bush impeached!
