Our daily practice of PEACE and LOVE sets us apart from other societies. Peace and love for one another, for all peoples of the Earth and for all life on the planet ordains the special role that the Rainbow Family plays in our world today. This is our religion, our daily practice and it is what gives us unity and strength and makes us difficult to conquer.
The struggle to grow as a family and live in a world that forces you to choose between temptations and living your values is a challenge. The annual international gatherings are a way to regain our values and regenerate our love for ourselves, and our world. Faith in humanity and human esteem are essential if we are to survive as humans; faith in humanity is restored at Rainbow Gatherings -- 32 thus far.

Oregon 1978 - 4th of July Children's Parade ---- Instant court - Thou Shalt Not SELL anything at a Rainbow Gathering. Here is a trial over the selling of acid at the Gathering. It is important to have a place where human beings can co-exist without money; instead the people depend on their virtuous humanness for survival, and it works! Humans are basiclly altruistic and not the cold blooded objectivists that Ayn Rand perceives us to be.
Living in the Golden Gate Park during 1984 Democratic convention. Making the stand for democarcy and freedom. After the convention the people demonstrated at the Bohemian Grove to bring attention to the annual gathering of the elite. In Hawaii, Swami Mommi demanding that we recycle. Through her efforts and stubborn demands to stand up for the planet, recycling is now widespread.
Washington 1981 - July 5th is Family Day or Day of the Tribes. Arizona 1979 - a long, loud and large council. The topic was about food and spanned from condemning Safeway to supporting organic farming and the Co-op movement. The Dog family had killed and eaten a steer. The Rainbow Family passed the hat and raised $1200 to pay the rancher. Doing what's right is important in the family and making up for the loss in any way we could was essential to maintaining our integrity with the world and our values.

We gather regionally during the year, internationally once a year, in a different state each time. Now there are international gatherings outside the US. Go to this web site to find a gathering near you. We gather in the tens of thousands and we do so in harmony out of the goodness of our heart. We share our existence of spirits being human on planet Earth and shine that existence with pride and joy. We are sharing our separate expressions of the great oneness. The great spirit of the oneness of all life is something to behold and experienced, this is what keeps us coming back.
