Woomera detention center deep in the desert of Australia
Who is the greater hypocrite, those that wage war to win peace or those that commit civil disobedience to protest an unjust law or government policy?
There is an uprising in Australia that the world must be aware of. The Woomera Detention Center is the site of immigrants seeking political asylum. Many have been there for 12 years. Most are from Afghanistan and IRan where the US has supported repressive regimes for years. We talk about freeing the people of Afghanistan -- why was the US the main financial support for the Taliban -- the regime that created teh refugees? Then why doesn't the US attack Australia to free the refugees? Or at least have some diplomacy around human rights.
