Six million march on Rome - May Day 2001.
Europe is the scene of the largest numbers of thoise resisting the fascist Globalization of the world's power elites. In Europe, a free press allows for the truth about the changes to our lives that Globalization brings - privatization, de-regulation, rigid control of citizens lives and more.
There is a strong developing protest in Europe due to an informed public. The high point this far was the 6 million people marching on Rome on May Day 2001. This was the largest statement yet against Globalization and involved the entire spectrum of people in the movement - unions, peace activists, environmentalists, human rights and everyone else.
The women of Greece are telling America that we have blood on our hands. This demonstration in Athens was on the first day of the attack on Iraq by US forces - March 21,2003.
Then came February 15th and the peoples' desire to speak out against war brought 15 million to the streets worldwide. My favorite story of that day was hearing about Barcelona, a city of 1.5 million had 1.2 million in the streets. This was the birth of the world's next Superpower - THE PEOPLE!
